Free Time Management Course

Unique Advantages - It’s not possible to overemphasize the importance of the
to-do list in time management. Listed below are several unique advantages for using a
to-do list:
Full Understanding - This list helps us start the day with a full
understanding of everything we plan to complete. It should be a complete list of
everything we want to accomplish even if it’s obvious that it would not be
possible to finish them all.
Priorities - You need to create a priority arrangement for all the things on
your list. Place the most important things at the highest level on the list. This
way, even if you can’t complete everything, you will have completed the most
important items.
Keep Track of List Items - Knowing all the items on your list may help you
to accomplish an item that is lower on the list while doing one of the more
important items. For example, you may be traveling to one location for a
meeting and also need to pick up a contract document at nearby location. You
can save time by picking up the contract when returning to your office.
Scratching Through - Having things on a list allows us to scratch through
them once we have completed each item. At the end of the day, when many of
the items have been scratched out, there will be a sense of satisfaction.
Move Remaining Items - If anything remains on the to-do list at the end of
the day, you can make certain that it is moved to the list for the next day.
Realistic List - Make your daily to-do list realistic. It is a waste of time to prepare
lists that have items you will have to work on in the long term. The daily list should
only have items that can realistically be completed in that day. If there are items that
you want to complete during a specific week, or even a specific month, prepare a
weekly or monthly list containing only those items that need to be completed during
the entire period. However, don’t leave those items for the last day of the week or
month and then rush through. Check the weekly and monthly schedule for items to
add to the daily to-do list.

Avoid Putting Off - Remember, a to-do list will help you complete everything that
you must do and you will avoid accidentally putting something important on the back
burner.
